October Currently

It's October, my favorite time of year, cool days, changing leaves, and of course, Halloween candy :)
I have been with my students for approximately 6 weeks and I have been quite busy.  I teach math intervention for grades 2-5 so I have a lot to juggle on a daily basis.  Currently, I am planning workshops for parents, grades K-2, next week will be grades 3-5.  This is definitely one of my favorite parts of my job.  The parents always want to help their little ones and the math always seems so new to them. It is like a tutoring session for adults.  They love it and I am so happy that I can help.

Thanks for stopping by.  What are you up to?

  1. I absolutely love that you are offering workshops to parents!!! We have so many parents that don't understand the "new way" of doing math, this would be a great way to bridge the home-school connection and support the parents. Happy fall!

    1. My first 2 workshops went well, I have 2 more next week. Each were one hour long but I think the parents would have kept me all day if I let them :) I taught the 2nd grade parents how to use base-10 block and how to decompose numbers. They were facinated!! Thanks for your comment and visiting. BTW, I love your blog - too cute!!
